Waiting for Commie!
Thank you very much. Please do this series justice.
> still uses HIDIVE script now we wait again
Professional means getting paid for it, dummy.
Why do people want to see this so badly anyway? I'm out of the loop
>Why do people want to see this so badly anyway? I’m out of the loop 'Cause there's apparently some good production/directing going on.
Maxine: Mostly fans of the seiyuus, but also a really interesting premise from what I've seen.
Because of Ikuhara's long-time colleague directing it.
If you don't know how to fansub, you could work with people who do.
I recommend waiting for [Chyuu-PAS] if you want a better release.
when cyuu pick dis ???? hmmmmm
\> Chyuu oh no
I'd trust Chyuu and PAS if I didn't know how bad they are about not fucking stalling shows at some point (Mahou Shoujo Site for PAS, after that they've picked it up again to focus on the BDs. Last Encore and Golden Kamuy for Chyuu). Sorry, but I want to watch the entire show, not just some episodes
Is this an original TL or just a TLCed/edited Sentai/HIDIVE script? Also, PAS shows don't stall if Himitsu isn't involved. See: Piano no Mori. It was mostly 48-hour turn arounds unless something unexpected came up. It lagged a little at the end because the editor got a new job mid-season, but it never went more than a week iirc. It was finished. While Himitsu IS involved with this show, it's only song tl and I got Akatsukin to cover in case they stall. Every position I thought could get stalled, I recruited/scouted a backup. As far as I know, none of the staff at Chyuu working on this are responsible for the stalling of those shows. There are more to groups than a tag. What matters is the people involved. EDIT: not to mention a lot of the staff working on this can do multiple positions and could cover in case something comes up.
These people have been translating Revue Starlight content in video and image form for over 6 months. They're literally the group that formed Revue Starlight International and several of their members even went to see the musical. Stop acting like they don't know what they're doing.
And what does it have to say about their fansubbing skill? Nothing. They use an awful script from Sentai's worst translator and "fix it" instead of doing an original translation. The script is beyond saving. So ofc they don’t know what they’re doing.
No original script is beyond saving if you're willing to put in the time and effort. I can't speak for this release either way since I haven't watched the show, but it's an improvement over Hidive's either which way. I'm inclined to take Andrea's word for it. I just hope they have a good typesetter.
They don't have a good typesetter, timer or editor. So I'm inclined to assume their TLC is trash too.
i guess it's kinda hard to form your own opinions on this release than take some rando's claims over how good/bad said release even is
The video quality is also garbage besides the bad typesetting and timing. That's the problem if you don't have any fansubbing experience. There is more than just knowing English and Japanese. All in all, the script and typesetting is slightly better than HIDIVE (HorribleSubs), but the video quality is worse and the timing is awful on both releases. Conclusion? Wait for a real fansub group like Chyuu-PAS.
Way better than HiDive. Thanks!
(((trusted))) posters shilling is hilarious
>These people have been translating Revue Starlight content in video and image form for over 6 months. They’re literally the group that formed Revue Starlight International and several of their members even went to see the musical. Stop acting like they don’t know what they’re doing. Fun fact: there's way more to fansubbing than translation! That's why I said they should work with other people who know how to do the other parts of fansubbing. My bet is they have too much pride to do that, though.
imagine being so dedicated to a project but still being unable to properly sub it
>These people have been translating Revue Starlight content in video and image form for over 6 months. They’re literally the group that formed Revue Starlight International and several of their members even went to see the musical. Stop acting like they don’t know what they’re doing. The Hidive translator for this show has also been translating anime for way longer than six months and they don't have a goddamn clue about what they're doing. "They've been at it for this long!" doesn't really say anything at all about how good someone actually is at doing their job. Even more so with fan translators than official ones.
Is it possible to upload also the .ass file with everything that is needed to use the subs on every video? You didn't use the highest quality video and extracting the subs isn't working this time (thanks to the high numbers of needed translations around 19:00).
Here is a .zip with a .mks, .ass and the separate fonts for whichever is most convenient for you. https://mega.nz/#!SVgz2ZQb!kE4PJch828WfTGkg33ZKKRhT8xpAIYHFFCMFuf4G0JE
@Hades_Nyaa Next time, take a look at animetosho: https://animetosho.org/view/starlightsubs-shoujo-kageki-revue-starlight-01-1280x720-x264.n1056936
I have disabled my link due to the above.
@FichteFoll I forgot about it, since I extract normally what I need. It seems it's a problem with the aspect ratio, not even the extracting? My problem is the difference between the original here https://i.imgur.com/BQO57Rx.jpg and the extracted (or downloaded) sub here https://i.imgur.com/kcwZ097.jpg Something like that never happened before, but with my inexperienced knowledge, I would say it's the different resolution? Thanks for reminding me of animetosho though, maybe better than extracting the subs on my own.
Chyuu would stall this shit by at least 6 weeks, as with all their other projects. Fuck off
@Hades_Nyaa You're just missing the fonts. You can download them via animetosho through "All Attachments".
Thanks for your hard work, I've been looking forward to this show for a while!
Modest typesetting with no eye-cancerous karaoke effects, but remove the Japanese text in the lyrics. They're pointless. Romaji too, if you're planning them. Humans don't have 2 pairs of eyes to keep track of the shit fansubbers put in one screen.
Fansub politics will never not be entertaining.
