Is there a Serenae version of the previous episodes? I'm not interested in this drama around anon's releases, all I care about is CONSISTENCY, and all the "it's anon's translation, but he doesn't upload to here anymore, but there's a different anon that retimes it to a different raw" stuff has made it so I haven't bothered to watch a single episode.

If I have time I might go back and do the first three episodes for consistency's sake. That said the other anon is a veteran at this and does a great job, while I'm quite new to this. On another note should I also be uploading the full mkv with subtitles too? What tool should I use? I'm afraid of messing with the video quality somehow, all I wanna do is attach the subtitles to the existing mp4/mkv without altering the video at all.

Use MKVToolNix, it allows you to shuffle around the streams of an MKV without having to do conversion or encoding.

@serenae I think you did pretty good actually, seemingly equal to the anon in most regards as far as I can tell. Only things major I noticed (last episode 4) was the line where Nyatoran said "you stink!" this seemed to make no sense in context compared to the anon who more specifically put "you're squeezing me too hard" whereas similarly ToeiPrettyGuardians clip had put "you're choking me" which would have similar meaning there. And then also Anon's translated the contents of all the texts on Hinata's phone, yours didn't... But otherwise all the intended nuances of the show seemed to get through in yours just as well, and this episode 5 I enjoyed watching it completely, didn't see anything that seemed out of place. I'm happy there's 2 subbers now ?

Haha yeah... Some anon pointed me to a place where I can get the Japanese subtitles, and that helped a ton. Last week I was just doing it by ear alone and somehow misheard 苦しい as クッセー.

ah cool! I don't even know the Japanese really, I was just going off which thing clearly seemed to fit the visual context more ❤️

thanks again and always. not that it's much of a problem, but during the OP and also during the transformation it seems that the subs are crashing the player (tried many different players). don't know if anyone is experiencing this of if it is a problem in my end (though I also tried two different computers - mac), but it also happened last week. just thought i should give the feedback.

@oxyghene I had some weird stutter-like issues when pausing and unpausing (when clicking the buttons intentionally, I mean. slight malfunction of their operation) in VLC but it was nothing major and was just slightly annoying but would fix itself, no true crashes. Not sure though if that's maybe somehow related to glitches in the file(s) or something that might affect others differently. could also be my pc too though. :)

@CureLovelyWarrior nothing like that here. it plays smoothly (be it the raw + sub, be it the other mkv with the sub from the other file) but it crashes, really crashes mpv and VLC, at the second subtitle line of the OP. tried reinstalling the players, but still. On the other hand tried reinstalling the players on my other computer (both MacBook), the older one, and it worked fine. No hiccups too. Gonna have to dig to find what is happening because it never happened before.

Oh by the way: I just realized it crashes when the heart symbol shows up in the subs! Like ever time, right there. During the transformation they’ll say “Healing Good Precure” with the little heart and it crashes right there. Amazing.

It might be a charset issue, maybe the encoding you're using doesn't support the ♥ character. See if you can turn on UTF-8 autodetection or set the text encoding explicitly. Also check whether you're on the latest version of the player you're using.

@oxyghene likely not the same issue then. what I wrote above probably doesn't mean much and can be safely ignored. But also I watched the ohys one (raw + sub file), not the commie one. Just checked the transformation scene in the commie one too though and it doesn't crash for me in that spot either. Might be your pc. I wonder if the hiccup is some kind of issue with unicode or "special" text? since, you know, that line has a heart in it as text. Just a wild guess though. Can't remember now if there are other lines like that in the sub... :) edit: uploader beat me to it ❤️

@serenae the player was latest version but indeed it was a problem with charset. Weirdly couldn’t fix it yet on one of my computers. But that’s ok. It works fine on the other and I edited the little hearts out of the sub and it works fine. Still can’t believe it was the little hearts which are sooooo adorable

Well... with the series going on indefinite hiatus due to you-know-what... I guess you'll have plenty of time to do the first few episodes for consistency. Silver lining...?
