Out of curiosity, where on earth did you get the HD Raws from? I've been searching for months for an Blu-Ray or legitimate streaming service that had this movie, but I could never find anything, since it only ever released on DVD in 2006. If something legitimate doesn't exist, I'll probably just buy the DVD and watch this instead, but if an official HD version does exist, I really want to buy it.
English names? Why? Any other localization fuckery you wanna share? Hope to hell it isn't a fucking dub. If it is, you should say so BEFORE we waste our time downloading it. Ah, I see. Kotobuki is "Tortimer", Periko is "Pelly". etc. I guess I can live with that. Still fucking stupid though. At least the font is legible. Still a bit skeptical about quotes that "still fit the meaning and intent of the Japanese". In my experience, the opposite is generally true.

@CuriousGeorge I can't speak for this upload/torrent, but the movie has periodically reaired on Kids Station in HD. Believe it aired yesterday in celebration of New Horizon's release, and has another airing scheduled for next week: https://www.kids-station.com/programs/KS11000859
@RTM Yeah, I ran across that in my search too. I don’t live in Japan, so I couldn’t get a high quality recording even if I wanted to, but it was nice to see it legitimately available somewhere, even though it had the Kids Station watermark. As for this release, I’m guessing they must have gotten the raws from the Grohotun or Tsuki releases somehow. And it looks like Grohotun got their HD footage from when it aired on Wowow years ago. It’s too bad this movie will probably never get a Blu-Ray or go on streaming. It’s like the only Nintendo movie other than Pokémon; it really deserves more attention.

@stealthmomo Well aren't you just full of positivity? I'm using English names because this release is for fans of Animal Crossing by a fan of Animal Crossing and English names is what they'd be used to. The direct quotes from the games mainly applies to the opening scene. In the Japanese he's talking about how bad the rain is, Ai's intent to move to the village and how she's becoming independent. The scene is practically identical to the opening of Wild World, so I figured it was using the same dialogue as the Japanese version and so used the dialogue from the English version. Kapp'n is still talking about how bad the rain is, moving to a village, and Ai being independent, which is 'being at that wanderin' age'. The only other direct quotes was some things Blathers says about the T-Rex and Seismosaurus fossils, and when Yu digs up a fossil he says exactly what the player says in the game when they dig up a fossil.
