[Orphan] Amon Saga (LD)
Orphan Fansubs presents a new release of the 1986 sword-and-sorcery fantasy Amon Saga, based on a laserdisc rip. At this point, you may be forgiven for a few WTFs. After all, the show has been available as a DVD rip for years. So why go back to the laserdisc?
When Erik of PIyo Piyo productions put up the raw, he wrote, “”[The DVD licensor] just took the VHS master, (badly) upscaled it, and dumped it onto a DVD." He felt that a Domesday Duplicator rip of the laserdisc would certainly give an indifferent DVD master a run for its money. Was he right? You’ll have to watch to find out.
However, the subs are much improved, and the ending song is translated. For more information, see this blog entry.

I hope you don’t mind me asking, but you seem like a great person to ask regarding classic anime. Do you happen to know if there’s a better version of the original Heroic Legend of Arslan OVAs? I remember reading about an HD remaster of the first two airing on Kids Station in Japan a long time ago (got links referring to them), but I’ve never seen it shared online. I watched the “(G_P) - Simu” torrent available here, but it feels like there could be better out there. I found other dvd rips online (French and Korean), but they look like something that’s from the same source used for different releases… Maybe I’m trying to hard to find something impossible. I’d appreciate any insight.
