Orphan Fansubs presents the first English version of the 1995 TV special Eiyuu Banka Koushi-den (The Heroic Elegy of Confucius). This movie-length special is a biography on Kong Qui (known in the West as Confucius), one of mankind’s greatest philosophers. Ripped from a Japanese laserdisc on the Domesday Duplicator by Piyo Piyo Productions and encoded by Orphan’s own Intrepid Media Maven™, this show was virtually unknown to Western audiences and still doesn’t appear in many anime databases. For more information, see this blog entry.
This release, and all Orphan releases, are available for direct download from IRC bot Orphan|Arutha in channels #nibl or #news on irc.rizon.net.
Baka me: the title is Eiyuu Banka Koushi-den, not Banku. Please rename the file when it has finished downloading.

Thanks again for this extremely obscure Dezaki greatness!

The annotated anime analects of Confucius! Wonderful! Is this part of an NHK series on philosophers/generals/history? What an excellent way to learn, both the improved anime, literate subtitles, and your excellent crib/notes without which I’d have probably got lost and given up ( https://collectr.blogspot.com/2020/09/eiyuu-banka-koushi-den.html). Praise be!!!
