Usually I find at least several very good, or even superb encodes, and so I try to always at least match the quality. Hope I have accomplished this, and well... hopefully a little more. I encoded this directly the normal playback size of NTSC DVD, which is actually 720 x 540. This way you get the same picture size playing the encode as if you were watching the original DVDs. I think this encode still looks fairly good at a 2 x video player zoom size, which interestingly is actually 1440 x 1080. I know that the file-size is a bit larger than most would prefer for a DVD release, but it also 540p, and I just could not get comfortable with the lower bit rate versions I tested. They just seems to lose some of the richness. So I went with the slightly larger version and higher bit-rate. I hope this won't be too much of an inconvenience to everyone. I customized the fonts and typesetting for the subtitles, and also did a little customizing on the OP and ED songs. Overall, I am happy with this release, and I look forward to watching it myself. I hope that it is at least good enough to provide enjoyment in viewing. We have a policy at Koten Gars about always using untouched native audio.
