Orphan presents the first English version the 2005 TV special, Boku no Boukuugou (My Air Raid Shelter). This is the fourth show in Shin-Ei Animation’s Sensou Douwa (War Fables) series, released on the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II. It is considerably expanded from a short story by Nosaka Akiyuki, who also wrote The Grave of the Fireflies. It is a bit lighter in tone than the other specials in this series, but it still packs an emotional wallop. For more information, see this blog entry.
