I just had to drool over the gorgeous screenshots and pray that someone would translate it. And now, almost five years after the game’s release, the long-awaited miracle happened - fans released a patch that completely translated Ys Origin into English. And in 2012, the official English version appeared on the Steam network service. Plot-wise, Ys Origin is a prequel to the entire series and the first two parts in particular. Therefore, if you are new to the world of Ys, then you can start getting acquainted with it, but I would still recommend going through at least Ys I and II before that. The events of the game take place 700 years before "Ancient Ys Vanished" and reveal the past of the world of Ys, the Devil's Tower, the Black Pearl, the sister goddesses and their six priests. The game features three main characters traveling through Devil's Tower - Yunika Tova, Hugo Fact and Tor Fact. Everyone has their own motives for climbing the tower, and only after completing the game with all three characters can you appreciate the completeness of the events happening on the screen.
