While exploring the different worlds of Ys I and Ys II, players are given a unique option: switching between 3 different soundtracks, which can be activated at any time. The re-arranged version features live instrumentals from Falcom's own band; the other two soundtracks are a synth version from a 2001 PC game and the original chiptune soundtrack recorded in 1987 and 1988.
