沖縄・糸満の女子少年院。すれ違ってしまった娘と母が、保護犬をしつけるトレーニングに参加。思うようにはいかない犬との関わりを通じて、互いの関係を見つめ直していく。
沖縄女子学園では、非行や罪を犯した少女たちが更生に向けた日々を送っている。去年８月に送致されたサクラさん（仮名）。母親と折り合いが悪く、家を留守がちに。薬物の過剰摂取を繰り返していた。今年２月から共に参加したのが、保護犬のしつけを通じて親子関係を振り返るトレーニング。犬と向きあう中で、コミュニケーションとは何かを学ぶ。訓練を通じて自信をつけたサクラさんは、胸にしまってきた思いを母親に打ち明ける。
